The ARRI Camera Companion application available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac with Apple Silicon offers a sophisticated platform for configuring personalized remote control interfaces tailored to professional filmmaking workflows. It supports integration with a range of ARRI cameras, including the ALEXA 35, ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Mini, AMIRA, and ALEXA 265.

The app is offered in two subscription tiers. The Standard subscription provides comprehensive control over fundamental camera functions. The Premium subscription extends capabilities to include features such as MIDI support through physical control devices. A free Demo version offers basic control functionalities, access to camera menus, and allows users to trial both Standard and Premium services before selecting a paid plan.

Control multiple cameras simultaneously: In the Demo version, control is limited to a single camera. The Standard subscription permits management of one or two cameras concurrently, while the Premium plan removes this limitation, supporting an unlimited number of cameras.

Camera status overview: The Demo version displays key status indicators including timecode, codec, recording resolution, look file, ARRI Texture (for ALEXA 35), lens data, framing guides, remaining media capacity, last clip details, power status, battery level, focus parameter, iris setting, zoom control, and active camera designation. The Standard subscription enables users to modify these parameters. The Premium tier additionally offers CDL (Color Decision List) control and video parameter adjustments for ALEXA Mini and AMIRA models.

Basic camera control: Users can perform essential operations such as starting and stopping recordings and adjusting exposure index, white balance, and ND filter settings within the Demo version.

Full camera control: The Standard subscription grants access to nearly all camera parameters, including playback controls, frame rate adjustments, shutter angle configuration, prerecording functions, sensor flip options, Web Remote integration for browser-based access, and frame grab capabilities. The Premium version further introduces sensor sync shift adjustments and simplified FIZ (Focus/Iris/Zoom) control via cforce lens motors.

Camera menu access: The app incorporates ARRI Web Remote—a well-established browser-based tool that replicates the camera's menu interface—ensuring complete access to all camera features and menu parameters across all subscription levels.

Customizable app layout: Activation of either Standard or Premium subscriptions allows users to arrange control tiles via drag-and-drop functionality into personalized interface layouts aligned with their operational preferences.

Infinite customizable user buttons: Subscribers can assign an unlimited number of user-defined buttons to any camera function and organize them within their optimized interface for rapid access.

Multiple tabs for cameras or layouts: With a Premium subscription, users can create multiple interface tabs for different cameras or shooting scenarios or dedicate specific tabs to playback controls—all organized for efficient workflow management.

MIDI support: Exclusive to the Premium plan, MIDI integration facilitates tactile control through physical input devices—potentially including unconventional controllers like vintage Casio keytars—providing enhanced flexibility for technical image specialists.
